Key Dates for NFL Fans
February 18: Starting today, teams can choose Franchise or Transition Players until March 4 at 4:00 p.m. New York time.
February 24 – March 3: It’s time for the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
March 4: This is the deadline for teams to finalize their Franchise or Transition designations by 4:00 p.m. New York time.
March 10-12: From noon on March 10 until 3:59 p.m. on March 12, clubs can negotiate with agents of players set to become unrestricted free agents. If a player is not represented by an agent, they can talk directly to team officials (but not coaches) about their contracts. However, no contracts can be signed until 4:00 p.m. on March 12.
March 12: The 2025 League Year kicks off, and the free agency signing period starts at 4:00 p.m. New York time. This is also when the trading period for 2025 begins after all 2024 contracts end.
The first day of the 2025 League Year runs until 11:59 p.m. on March 12. Teams will get updates on all transactions made during this time.
March 30 – April 2: The Annual League Meeting will take place at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.
April 16: Teams must finish all testing, visits, interviews, and physicals for draft-eligible players at their facilities by this date.
April 18: This is when restricted free agents must sign offer sheets.
April 21: Teams with returning head coaches can begin their offseason workout programs.
April 23: Clubs must exercise their Right of First Refusal for any restricted free agents who signed offer sheets.
Teams must also complete interviews and physicals for draft-eligible players by this date.
April 24-26: The NFL Draft takes place in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
May 1: This is the deadline for teams to decide on the Fifth-Year Option for players drafted in the first round of 2022.
May 2-5 or 9-12: Teams can hold their post-Draft rookie minicamp over one of these weekends.
May 12: Rookie Football Development Programs are set to start.
May 14-18: The NFLPA Rookie Premiere will be held in Los Angeles, California.
May 20-21: The Spring League Meeting and Coach Accelerator program will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
