Part of folklore: The busts of Barbados legends Worrell, Walcott and Weekes.

In the park outdoors the threeWs Oval are the busts of three legendary cricketers — Frank Worrell, Clyde Walcott and Everton Weekes. The trio, among the many greatest batters of their era, had been born inside a couple of miles of one another within the island of Barbados.
The 3Ws Oval could be discovered throughout the highway, nestled within the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus. The quaint floor is known as in reminiscence of the favored Barbadians.
Impressive view
A large statue of stumps stands guard over the inexperienced outfield. It is a powerful view that can’t escape the sight of the batters within the center.
The exploits of the three ‘Ws’ is written in cricket folklore. The trio heralded a new era in West Indies cricket within the late Forties, which till then had boasted of just one world-class batter in George Headley.
Worrell was the primary black cricketer to captain the West Indies cricket group, and led the group within the well-known 1960-61 tour to Australia.
Such was his recognition that the perpetual Frank Worrell Trophy, awarded to the winner of West Indies-Australia Test collection, was commissioned on the finish of that tour.
Walcott was arguably the perfect batter on the earth within the Nineteen Fifties. His numbers reached the zenith when he gave up the wicketkeeping gloves to focus purely on scoring runs.

Weekes, a highly effective strokeplayer, set a world file of 5 successive lots of in Test innings. This nonetheless stands undefeated. The 3Ws Oval serves as a reminder of a once glorious era of Caribbean cricket.
