The Vestaboard company spent over a year developing an innovative product called the Smart Bits. It aimed to upgrade their unique character display system. However, due to economic changes from tariffs on Chinese goods, they shifted gears and introduced a new product: the Note.

The Note offers a similar experience to the original Vestaboard but with fewer moving parts. While the classic model features 132 split-flap mechanisms, the Note has just 45. Each mechanism can represent 64 characters along with symbols and colors, including a new red heart. The display measures 24.5 inches wide, or 28.4 inches with an optional bezel that costs an additional $169.

Users can create messages and designs easily through a web interface or a free app available on iOS and Android. These messages can be sent via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. The app has a variety of pre-made designs and quotes to choose from, making it user-friendly. You can also schedule messages or mute notifications during specific hours, ensuring your Note doesn’t disturb your sleep.

Interestingly, the popularity of digital message boards is rising amid the growing trend of home automation. According to a recent survey, over 60% of homeowners are integrating smart devices into their spaces for communication and aesthetic appeal.
