In December, Samsung introduced Project Moohan along with their Android XR headset. They gave us another sneak peek during the Galaxy S25 launch in January. The official reveal of the Android XR headset is coming up at MWC 2025.
According to Samsung, this event will showcase their first Android XR headset, Project Moohan. It promises to show how AI can enhance the future of extended reality.
This innovative device combines advanced XR features with multimodal AI, creating personalized and immersive experiences for daily life.
In mid-December, Samsung and Google shared details about Project Moohan’s developer kit. I got a hands-on experience and learned that the hardware was nearly ready for consumers in 2025.

This headset runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 and features an external battery option—great for users who want to connect larger battery packs through USB-C. Before the public reveal, select partners received devices to start building apps, and many developers got theirs in December.
In January, Samsung allowed attendees at the Unpacked 2025 event to snap pictures of the headset.
We’re looking forward to the MWC reveal for the final name, price, and official release date. The headset feels lightweight, and the hardware seems well-crafted.
Originally, we didn’t expect this announcement until later in 2025. Samsung usually saves their big announcements for summer events, like the unveiling of foldable devices. However, a reveal this week might still provide key details on specs.
Samsung has also rolled out the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G, and we anticipate an “exclusive look at Galaxy S25 Edge” at MWC 2025.
