Join the 105th Anniversary of Cinco de Mayo Omaha: Experience a Vibrant Celebration of Music, Food, Parade, and Culture!

Get ready for a vibrant celebration as the 105th anniversary of Cinco de Mayo in Omaha kicks off on Friday! This year promises delicious food, lively music, and spirited dance, starting at 5 p.m.

Marco Mora, President of Casa de La Cultura, highlights the festival’s importance in showcasing the neighborhood’s rich blend of cultures. South Omaha has a historic background with Czechs, Poles, and Italians, and now it proudly embraces its Latino roots. “It’s another opportunity to experience a beautiful culture,” Mora explains.

Preparation for the festival began earlier this week. This year, they’ve added more musical acts, three performance stages, and a variety of food vendors stretching for three miles. “We’ve made our lineup much bigger,” Mora said. In the past, there was often only one stage, but now there will be three, featuring exciting concerts and endless food options along 24th Street.

Parking can get busy, so shuttles will run from Metro Community College’s south campus to help attendees get to the festivities with ease. Additionally, the event will include Latino art installations and a health fair offering essential services to families.

The festival runs from:

• Friday, May 9: 5 to 10:30 p.m.
• Saturday, May 10: 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
• Sunday, May 11: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Entry to the festival is free, but concert tickets are $10 for adults. Kids under 12 can join in without a ticket.
