Congress Working Committee member and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor spoke on Thursday about offering alternatives for youthful individuals to contest polls, indicating that his upcoming struggle from Thiruvananthapuram within the basic elections could also be his final within the constituency.

Mr Tharoor, who entered politics over a decade in the past, achieved a powerful victory within the 2009 basic election, securing the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala and marking his debut in Parliament.

In his first electoral battle, Mr Tharoor triumphed over his closest CPI rival P Ramachandran Nair by a considerable margin of over 95,000 votes.

Following this success, he maintained his maintain on the seat with decisive victories within the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Before starting his political profession, Mr Tharoor labored with the United Nations, and in 2006 represented India because the official candidate for the place of UN Secretary-General, ending in second place out of seven candidates within the race.
