‘Agnipath’ Protests: Secunderabad Violence ‘Mastermind’ Arrested, Say Cops

Secunderabad:

An ex-Armyman has been arrested in reference to the Friday’s violence at Secunderabad railway station in Telangana over the ‘Agnipath’ recruitment scheme, the police mentioned.

Avula Subba Rao is allegedly the mastermind behind the violence whereby a number of trains have been set on hearth by the protesters, whereas one individual was killed when police opened hearth to disperse the mob, officers mentioned.

He reportedly created WhatsApp teams to mobilise the mob and performed a key function in arson and vandalism in Secunderabad.

Mr Rao is from Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh and has been working a coaching academy for military aspirants that has branches in Narsaraopet, Hyderabad and no less than seven different locations for the previous few years.

He was apprehended by the police for questioning on Saturday.

19-year-old Rajesh from Warangal was killed whereas greater than a dozen have been injured on Friday as hundreds of demonstrators gathered on the railway station and attacked three passenger trains, burning down coaches, and destroying public property.
