Arshdeep reveals spending time with Avesh Khan a day before 1st ODI “boosted” his performance

After producing a match-winning performance for India within the 1st ODI in opposition to South Africa, Arshdeep Singh joked about how a photograph shoot with his compatriot Avesh Khan performed a position in boosting his performance.

During India’s 8-wicket victory, Arshdeep and Avesh breathed hearth, looking in pairs to devastating penalties, skittling out the Proteas for simply 116. It turned out to be South Africa’s lowest whole in ODIs on house soil.

After the sport, Arshdeep joked about how a photograph shoot with Avesh a day before the opening ODI performed a main position in his performance. “It feels good, the photoshoot that I did with you (Avesh) has given me a big boost to produce a good performance here,” Arshdeep mentioned in a video posted by BCCI on X.

On the opposite hand, Avesh fell in need of one wicket from clinching a five-wicket haul. He talked about his position as Arshdeep set the perfect platform for the remainder of the bowlers to construct on. “My job was to bowl wicket to wicket it feels good, my mindset has been to focus on things that I can control because when I didn’t play T20 I focused on ODI cricket, and this has benefitted me a lot. I focus and back my preparation, I want to give my 100% in every match,” Avesh mentioned.

With the floor providing a lot of buy for the fast bowlers, Arshdeep had the ball on a string as he claimed his maiden five-for within the 50-over format. Coming within the first change, Avesh, too, bowled with nice tempo and hearth, registering spectacular figures of 4/27 in Eight overs. Both pacers mixed to assert 9 wickets between them, which was essentially the most by Indian pacers in opposition to South Africa in an ODI innings.

After going one up within the sequence, India will face South Africa within the second ODI on Tuesday in Gqeberha.
