Begumpet airport gets hoax bomb threat on email

Hyderabad: An email despatched by an unidentified individual stating {that a} bomb was planted on the Begumpet airport and it might explode any time turned out to be a hoax after an intensive checking of the premises by the bomb disposal (BD) squad right here on Monday.

The airport officers acquired the email during which it was acknowledged {that a} bomb was planted on the airport and it might explode any time.

The airport officers then alerted the police at 11 am, who pressed into service the BD squad of the City Security Wing (CSW). The personnel of BD squad searched the premises for greater than an hour and confirmed that it was a hoax name.

On seeing the BD squad, the non-public safety personnel deployed on the airport and the workers was on tenterhooks. When the BD squad confirmed that no explosives had been discovered, the workers heaved a sigh of reduction as a number of VIPs, Ministers and prime industrialists would journey from Begumpet on chartered flights and helicopters.

The Begumpet airport can also be getting used for coaching functions other than attending to emergency obligation to shift reduction materials to affected areas in case of pure calamities.
