CUET candidates urge L-G to facilitate CUET exam centres in J&K instead of Punjab

Candidates showing for the CUET-UG from Ramban district on June 5 sought Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s intervention in allocation of exam centres shut to the Union Territory and never in Punjab.

Mr. Sinha had on Friday raised the problem of the dearth of CUET examination centres in Jammu and Kashmir with the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, following which the check was postponed for the native candidates.

Scores of candidates from Ramban space have obtained admit playing cards displaying their exam centre in Punjab’s Jalandhar, about 300 kms away.

“Many candidates from Ramban district have received admit cards with exam centres in Jalandhar or some other city outside Kashmir,” a candidate mentioned.

Several candidates have mentioned they’re too arduous up financially to journey outdoors the Union Territory and appealed to the L-G and the exam authorities to change the exam venue to someplace close to their place.
