The Delhi Police recently detained several members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha during a protest outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence. This was in response to demonstrations by the Indian Youth Congress at the AI Impact Summit 2026.
The BJP activists accused Gandhi of “shaming India.” They raised slogans, including “Rahul Gandhi Murdabad,” and held signs that criticized him.
A leader from the Yuva Morcha claimed that Gandhi’s actions were damaging India’s reputation internationally. They argued that protests should focus on policies rather than attacking the country itself.
This protest followed a demonstration by the Indian Youth Congress at the AI Summit. Their members went so far as to remove their shirts, displaying messages that read, “Compromised PM.” They accused the Prime Minister of compromising the nation’s identity at the summit.
Earlier that day, police had also detained four Indian Youth Congress workers protesting at the Bharat Mandapam venue.
