Discover the Exciting New Features in Google Pixel Camera 9.8: Latest Update Inside!

Google has launched the Pixel Camera version 9.8 as part of the March 2025 Feature Drop. It may take a little while for this update to reach everyone.

Update 3/10: Users are starting to see version 9.8 rolling out more broadly today. This new version, 9.8.102.732237915.11, offers some changes from the previous version.

Original 3/5: The 9.8 update is smaller compared to the last December update, which introduced Quick Access controls. Now, there’s a new toggle in Settings under Advanced to enable “Animation for Astrophotography.” It’s turned on by default. Also, users can now use the Palm timer feature with the rear camera.

Pixel Fold users can enjoy the Dual Screen Preview feature when recording videos. Meanwhile, Add Me now shows up on the external display of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Additionally, Pixel 9 series users can utilize the Connected Cameras feature. This lets them capture photos or livestream using remote cameras like the Pixel 6 or a compatible GoPro. Supported apps include YouTube, Instagram, and more.

To use it, make sure the Device Connectivity Service app is updated. Once updated, go to Settings, select Connected devices, and enable Connected Cameras.

When using Connected Cameras, find the Camera Picker for managing your connections.

The Camera Picker allows users to easily add or disconnect remote cameras and switch between devices.

Keep these points in mind:

  • Only devices linked to your Google Account can connect.
  • You can connect to one remote camera at a time.
  • Audio is picked up from the active camera.
  • Using Bluetooth may reduce streaming quality.

Pixel Camera 9.8 is being rolled out through the Google Play Store, or you can find it available for sideloading from other sources.
