Discover the Exciting Spring Lineup for Science on Tap at Austin Peay State University’s College of STEM!

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is gearing up for an exciting Spring 2025 with its Science on Tap series. This event will feature four engaging evenings where faculty from the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will explore captivating topics in a casual, off-campus setting.

Science on Tap allows the community to dive into science while enjoying local food and craft brews at Strawberry Alley Ale Works. It’s a great opportunity to learn from knowledgeable professors, join fascinating conversations, and connect with fellow science lovers. This event welcomes participants of all ages, fostering an environment where researchers and enthusiasts can share their insights.

Spring 2025 Science on Tap Schedule

  • February 4th – Join Dr. Lisa Sullivan from the Chemistry Department and Dr. Jonniann Butterfield from Sociology as they discuss “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” which examines the chemical and social aspects of love.
  • March 4th – Dr. Isaac Sitienei will explore the future of artificial intelligence in agriculture, shedding light on how technology is reshaping this vital field.
  • April 1st – Drs. Madeline Giefer and Catherine Haase will share their findings from their summer research trip to the Galapagos Islands, focusing on sea lion behavior.
  • May 6th – Charles Weigandt will delve into the physics of aviation, explaining the science behind flight.

Science on Tap occurs on the first Tuesday of each month during the academic year, starting at 5:30 PM with doors opening at 5:00 PM. It takes place in the upstairs area of Strawberry Alley Ale Works, right in downtown Clarksville.
