Exciting News for Travelers: Jammu-Srinagar Train Service Launch by Vande Bharat – All You Need to Know!

New Delhi: A new chapter in train travel is about to unfold in Jammu and Kashmir. The third Vande Bharat Express train, designed to connect Jammu and Srinagar, is set to launch shortly after Holi 2025, which falls on Friday, March 14. This modern train will be managed by the Northern Railway zone.

As the festive season approaches, the Ministry of Railways and Northern Railway officials are keeping a close eye on ticket sales and the influx of travelers. This focus on passenger management shows the growing popularity of train travel in India.

The railway system has seen significant improvements in recent years. Since 2014, under the Narendra Modi government, there’s been a concerted effort to extend rail networks, reaching regions like Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir. This has opened new doors for business and tourism, enabling locals and visitors to explore these beautiful areas more easily.

A senior railway official shared insights with ETNOW.in, revealing the anticipation surrounding the Jammu-Srinagar service. “We expect to launch the Vande Bharat train in March,” the official stated, emphasizing that the Railway Board will make the final call. This train will travel between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) and Srinagar.

For those planning a trip, ticket prices from Katra to Srinagar will range between Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,600 for AC Chair Car seats and Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,500 for Executive Chair Car seats, including reservation and superfast charges.

This new service will include one Executive Class and seven AC Chair cars, accommodating a total of 530 passengers. It’s an exciting advancement for residents and tourists alike, promising a comfortable and quick travel experience through the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir.

Interestingly, social media is buzzing with excitement over this development. Users are sharing their expectations and travel plans, showcasing a growing enthusiasm for train travel in India. This reflects a broader trend as more people seek convenient and efficient modes of transportation.

As the launch date approaches, many are eager to see how this new service can enhance connectivity and support local economies. It’s a reminder of how rail infrastructure can change lives, fostering not just travel, but community development.
