Experience the Ultimate Reimagining: Talking Heads Unveil Super Deluxe Edition of ‘More Songs About Buildings and Food’

Talking Heads is celebrating 50 years of innovation in music with a special release of their second album, More Songs About Buildings and Food. This super deluxe edition comes packed with new goodies.

The three-CD/Blu-ray set features a remastered version of the original album. You’ll find 11 rarities, including four never-before-released tracks. There’s also a live album from the band’s August 1978 performance at New York’s Entermedia Theatre, capturing their electrifying energy.

The Blu-ray offers rich audio with Dolby ATMOS and 5.1 surround sound mixes. You’ll also get concert footage from the Entermedia show and another performance at Sproul Plaza in Berkeley, California.

A hardcover book accompanies the set, filled with unseen photos and notes from band members: David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison. It’s a treasure for any fan.

As a sneak peek, the band has released an alternative version of “Found A Job,” which you can listen to now. This add-on showcases their creative journey and experimentation with sound.

The special edition isn’t just on CD; there will also be a four-LP vinyl version. This includes the original album, rarities, and that electric live show from New York. Additionally, a limited release is available on the band’s website, featuring four international 7-inch singles and unique vinyl options.

Originally released in July 1978, More Songs About Buildings and Food reached #29 on the U.S. charts, marking Talking Heads’ first hit single with a cover of Al Green’s “Take Me To The River.” This track was a key moment, showcasing their ability to blend different genres and create something fresh.

As music evolves, Talking Heads remains an important reference point. Their innovative approach resonates with today’s artists, echoing through contemporary sounds seen on platforms like TikTok, where retro music is making a strong comeback.

This special edition will hit shelves on July 25 and is available for preorder now. With this release, fans can celebrate a band that changed the music landscape forever.
