Hyderabad/Bengaluru death-thrash metal band Godless are parting methods with vocalist Kaushal L.S. this month. The announcement got here as Godless heads out on a five-city run of reveals throughout India and Nepal beginning Jul. 12 and concluding on Jul. 18.
Kaushal had joined Godless in 2015 shortly after it was based by bassist-composer Abbas Razvi and lent his incisive vocal fashion to the band’s debut EP Centuries of Decadence (2016), the follow-up EP Swarm (2018) and their debut album States of Chaos (2021). Most lately, his remaining contribution with a Godless tune is “Amorphous Mass,” which released in May.
In a statement launched by means of the band, Kaushal stated, “After nearly a decade of creating music together, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my departure from Godless. Since joining the band in 2015, we’ve had an epic journey—from releasing two EPs, a full-length album, and a single, to playing big stages like Wacken Open Air and touring extensively across Europe and the subcontinent. We’ve crossed thousands of kilometres by air and road and shared countless unforgettable experiences.”
The vocalist – a co-founder of metallers Maneating Orchid and beforehand a part of steel bands like Eccentric Pendulum and Gutslit – stated it took “much introspection” earlier than taking the decision to half with Godless. Kaushal provides, “It came from a place of wanting to explore new personal and artistic horizons. I’m profoundly thankful to my bandmates in Godless for the time we’ve shared and the memories we’ve made […] I want to thank all of you who stood with us and the support you’ve given us over the years. It’s been a monumental journey that I will always cherish.”
Godless, for his or her half, added of their assertion, “We thank Kaushal for his incredible contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.” After the ultimate run of reveals this month with him, Godless will flip their deal with their subsequent report, which can function a brand new vocalist. “We’ll be launching the search for a new frontman right after the tour,” the band’s assertion provides.
The band performs in New Delhi on Jul. 12, adopted by a few reveals in Nepal, in Kathmandu on Jul. 13 and Pokhara Jul. 14. Their remaining reveals with the present lineup come on Jul. 17 in Shillong and Jul. 18 in Bengaluru, the place they’re supporting German tech-death steel band Defeated Sanity’s India debut.
The band assertion provides, “Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to announce our return to Europe in April-May 2025, where we’ll explore new territories, new audiences with new music.”
