The Super League is reportedly a Saudi-backed proposed enterprise that’s making an attempt to draw golfers away from golf’s foremost excursions, the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, with gives of massive cash.
But final week, Mickelson was quoted from a 2021 interview with creator Alan Shipnuck for his upcoming e-book, “Phil: The Rip-Roaring (and Unauthorized!) Biography of Golf’s Most Colorful Superstar,” as saying that he would take into account becoming a member of the proposed Super League as a result of it’s a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reshape how the PGA Tour operates.”

Mickelson added that he has felt strain and stress have an effect on him over the years and instructed he could also be taking a break from the sport, saying, “I know I have not been my best and desperately need some time away to prioritize the ones I love most and work on being the man I want to be.”
Mickelson’s longtime sponsor KPMG stated in a press release Tuesday it will not be partnering with the golfer.
“KPMG U.S. and Phil Mickelson have mutually agreed to end our sponsorship effective immediately. We wish him the best,” the firm stated.
When requested about Mickelson’s latest quotes and Tuesday’s assertion, a spokesperson for the PGA Tour stated the group didn’t have a remark.
