Grand celebrations mark Vinayaka Chaturthi in South India

Vinayaka Chathurthi was celebrated with non secular fervour and gaiety throughout the south on Saturday, with outstanding leaders, together with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy becoming a member of the celebrations in the respective states.

A festive temper pervaded the area as scores of devoted celebrated the day, and grandeur marked the event with the set up of enormous Ganesha idols in Chennai and Hyderabad, amongst different cities.

Prominent Ganesha temples reminiscent of those at Pillayarpatti in Sivaganga and Malaikottai in Tiruchirappalli, each in Tamil Nadu, and the Manakula Vinayakar temple in neighbouring Puducherry teemed with devotees who thronged the shrines to supply worship.

Telangana CM Reddy participated in a well-attended Ganesh Puja at Khairatabad in Hyderabad. JD (S) chief and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy held prayers at Bengaluru.

Celebrations have been additionally held in some temples in Kerala.

In Tamil Nadu, clay idols of Lord Ganesha have been put in at properties and prayers have been held.

AIADMK chief and Leader of Opposition, Edappadi Okay Palaniswami greeted individuals on the event.
