Hyderabad: Hungama Digital Media, teamed up with the Bhamla Foundation and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), has launched Tik Tik Plastic 3.0. This exciting campaign aims to spark conversations about protecting our environment. A press conference in Mumbai featured notables like Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, generating buzz around the theme #BeatPlasticPollution.

This year’s campaign features two short films directed by Imtiaz Ali. “Earthing” stars Ajay Devgn alongside Sharvari Wagh, while “Pyasa” highlights Ajay in a solo performance. Together, they encourage discussions on reducing plastic waste and inspire meaningful actions for a cleaner planet.

As Ajay Devgn, a global ambassador for World Environment Day 2025, put it, “The environment is a personal responsibility for everyone. Simple actions, like cutting out plastic from our lives, can make a significant difference.” Studies show that nearly 300 million tons of plastic are produced each year, and a vast majority ends up in our oceans. This film series aims to change that narrative and push for sustainable solutions.

Bhushan Gagrani, BMC Municipal Commissioner, emphasized the importance of community involvement. He noted that Mumbai generates huge amounts of plastic waste annually, making it vital for residents to take action. The city is looking for ways to reduce this waste, striving for a cleaner and greener environment.

Ashish Shelar, Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs, praised the Bhamla Foundation for its innovative environmental efforts, from beach clean-ups to securing funds for sustainability projects. He believes that building more green spaces could improve the city’s health and well-being.

Asif Bhamla, Chairman of the Bhamla Foundation, stressed the need for community mobilization. He mentioned that public-private partnerships are essential for viable change and called for replacing single-use plastics with sustainable options. “These small actions contribute to restoring environmental balance,” he said.

After the films debut, Tik Tik Plastic 3.0 will also organize various initiatives, including tree-planting drives, composting workshops, and clean-up events. The goal is to engage communities all over Mumbai in sustainable living practices. Collaborating with organizations like UNEP India and MCGM, the campaign aims to extend its message of conservation beyond just one day, promoting lasting awareness and involvement.
