Join Us for a Thursday Bash at Tuscaloosa Brewery: Raise Funds for Our Local Food Pantry!

A Thursday evening at a Tuscaloosa brewery is set to be a fun and meaningful event. Live music will fill the air, and at the heart of it all is a food drive supporting a local pantry that fights hunger.

Bo Hicks and the team at Druid City Brewing Company are partnering with Druid City Pride to raise funds for Table of Grace, a food pantry run by Grace Presbyterian Church on Hargrove Road. This pantry opened its doors in November 2023, offering a unique shopping experience. Instead of just handing out bags of food, it lets clients choose their items from shelves, much like a grocery store. This approach helps reduce waste and empowers people to make their own choices based on what they need.

The night will feature live performances from Haysop, a local band, and Birmingham’s Janey Simpson & Her Band. Haysop’s self-titled album, released on the same day, showcases their hard work with production by Taylor Hollingsworth and mastering by Jamie Sego at Portside Sound.

The music kicks off at 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash donations, which will be matched by Druid City Pride, dollar for dollar, up to $500. This money will directly support Table of Grace’s efforts to feed those in need.

Bo Hicks explains that Table of Grace allows clients to select from available food options, which can vary each month. “The world can be a scary place and times are especially tough right now, so we hope everyone attending can help by donating,” he said.

This concert not only serves as a launch party for local music but also aims to strengthen community bonds. It’s heartening to see local businesses take initiative in addressing hunger, especially during challenging times.
