Lotte India opens expanded confectionery facility near Chennai

Lotte India stated the expanded confectionery facility in Nemam would take the full manufacturing capability to 1,420 tonne per 30 days and had the potential to make use of 200 folks.

Lotte India has expanded its confectionery manufacturing unit in Nemam, near Chennai, by investing ₹185 crore to fulfill the rising home demand and in addition to assist potential alternatives for exports sooner or later.

The enlargement would allow the confectioner to extend the manufacturing of its iconic Lotte Choco Pie merchandise, to 1,420 tonne per 30 days from the present 545 tonne per 30 days, the agency stated in an announcement.

“With an additional 85,562 square-foot, our factory’s facility area has witnessed substantial expansion, increasing from 18% to 32%, making it one of the largest factories in India at a total size of 5,16,398 square-foot,” stated MD Milan Wahi.

Asserting that Lotte India achieved ‘Zero Accident Hours’ within the final 10 years because of excessive security requirements practised contained in the manufacturing unit, he stated that with a 99% retention price on the manufacturing unit, Lotte India is now set to warmly welcome 200 workmen in its expanded manufacturing unit.

The firm had posted ‘exceptional’ development in its annual gross sales which surged to ₹497 crore in FY22 from ₹168 crore FY08. In FY23, it achieved gross sales of ₹657 crore.
