Three of 9 wildfires burning in the Shuswap area are both listed as underneath management or being held.
That’s in accordance with the B.C. Wildfire Service, which issued updates Saturday on the 5 fires.
In the North Shuswap, two fires alongside the Seymour Arm of Shuswap Lake are in completely different levels.
The Lower Blueberry Creek fireplace, situated in the hills above Dasnier’s Bay and sized at just below one hectare (0.8), is deemed to be underneath management.
The fireplace was found on July 17 and is believed to have been began by lightning.

Earlier Saturday, the BC Wildfire Service warned that residents may see a spike this weekend in lightning-precipitated fires from this week’s earlier thunderstorms.
And trekking again to the North Shuswap, BCWS crews discovered three fires in a distant three-kilometre radius round 18 km northeast of Seymour Arm.
One fireplace was found on Friday, with the remaining two being discovered on Sunday. All are at the moment listed as being small fires.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, there are 30 wildfires in the Kamloops Fire Centre. Of the 30, 24 are stated to have been began by lightning, with three attributable to human exercise. The remaining 4 are undetermined.
“This week, we’ve had some lightning activity across the region,” stated fireplace data officer Aydan Coray. “We had round 300 strikes (on Wednesday) throughout the hearth centre area.
“Thursday, we had 50 strikes, and Friday, we had seven strikes. So, still seeing a lot of lightning activity out there.”
Coray says the lightning isn’t being accompanied by rain, which will increase the chance of wildfires being began.
“So it’s something that we are monitoring very closely,” stated Coray, “seeking out new starts, using our new aircraft to look for those new starts and action them appropriately.”
