Man held for sending email threatening attack on Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad crime department has arrested a person for allegedly sending an email threatening an attack on the Narendra Modi Stadium in the town, officers stated on October 11.

The accused, who has no felony background, was arrested from Rajkot in Gujarat, they stated.

The large stadium is among the venues of the continuing cricket World Cup and the India-Pakistan cricket match will likely be performed right here on October 14.

The accused had allegedly despatched an email claiming that there will likely be a blast on the stadium, an official stated with out elaborating.

The accused, a local of Madhya Pradesh, resided on the outskirts of Rajkot.

“He had issued a brief mail from his phone and carrying his name. He has no criminal background,” the official stated.

The Ahmedabad police earlier stated further safety preparations have been made for the India-Pakistan World Cup cricket match on October 14.

The face-off between the neighbours on the cricket subject is anticipated to attract an enormous crowd.

More than 11,000 personnel of varied companies together with Gujarat Police, NSG, RAF, and residential guards amongst others will likely be deployed in Ahmedabad and on the Narendra Modi Stadium through the India-Pakistan cricket match on October 14, a senior official stated on October 9.
