He stated, “Ali Fazal ko pehle approached kiya gaya tha Munna ke character ke liye. But unhone script padhke bola mujhe Guddu karneka mann hai. Uss samaj pe jaisi unki image thi, jaise unhone kirdaar kiye the toh ekdam hi different choice thi. But he gave us the confidence that he can do it and he has that madness in him. From there, the rest of the casting also fell into place.”
