Meg Bellamy has described how she was subjected to trolling about her weight when enjoying Kate Middleton in The Crown.

The 21-year-old actress performed the Princess of Wales within the sixth and closing season of the hit Netflix drama, which came to an end last year.

In the season, she starred alongside Ed McVey as Prince William, with the show following their meeting on the University of St Andrews in Scotland and their subsequent courtship.

However, she’s now shared the negativity she confronted when her casting was introduced.

The actress recalled discovering ‘all this negative stuff’ about her physique on the web after she was solid because the princess.

‘The comments were mostly, “You’re too fats to play Kate”,’ she stated.

Meg additionally stated her expertise with on-line trolls gave her a ‘glimpse into being a woman in this industry’.

‘I assumed, “OK, that’s a sign to distance yourself, because it doesn’t mean anything”,’ she added when talking to the Mail on Sunday’s You journal.

‘You can’t pay attention to that type of stuff. Not least as a result of most of it’s written by web trolls, or males known as Gary who’re holding a fish of their profile image.’

Despite the negativity, Meg has stated she is grateful for her time on the present.

‘They’re the losers for saying that. I’m dwelling my greatest life over right here,’ she stated of those that took purpose at her.

However, she did say she’s now ‘tried to put the character behind’ her because the present ended.
