“It happens. It’s part of our lives,” retired Indian Navy commander BK Verma says whereas speaking about his daughter’s marriage ceremony that he couldn’t attend. Verma, 58, was amongst eight former Indian Navy personnel launched from a jail in Qatar on Monday. They have been sentenced to dying in October final 12 months for alleged espionage, however the dying sentence was later commuted.

“But that’s okay. It happens. I was a Navy officer. Even when we are naval officers, we have to travel to many places and at that time also we are not able to join many moments with the family. It’s all part of our lives,” he stated.

He needed to be along with his spouse and kids now and likewise meet all his associates who stood by the household in tough instances, Mr Verma added.

Thanking God for her husband’s launch, his spouse Suman stated reuniting with him was a second they have been “forever waiting for”.

“Looking at him again, I was thinking if he is really in front of me….” she stated.

“My husband’s presence at the wedding in Indore makes me feel like we are reliving our daughter’s wedding moment. My daughter is also with us,” she added.

She additionally thanked the Indian authorities for its efforts to safe her husband’s launch.
