Five individuals died when a glider and a small aircraft crashed within the Swiss Alps on the weekend, police stated Monday, including that they have been investigating whether or not the 2 accidents have been linked.

A small aircraft with the pilot and three different individuals on board, together with a baby, crashed on the Piz Neir mountain in japanese Switzerland on Saturday, killing everybody onboard, regional police within the canton of Graubunden stated in an announcement.

The wreckage was discovered on Sunday by rescue staff out in search of a glider that crashed close by on Saturday, killing the pilot.

The glider had crashed about one kilometre away from the place the aircraft was discovered, at an altitude of two,700 metres (8,850 ft) above the village of Bivio.
