Pregnant woman gang-raped, set on fire in MP’s Morena

A 34-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly raped by three males and set on fire in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, and is battling for her life in a hospital, police stated on Saturday.

The sufferer, who sustained 80% burns, is present process therapy in Gwalior, an official stated. The incident occurred in Chand Ka Pura village, round three km from Ambah city, on Friday, he stated.

The sufferer went to the village to work out a compromise with a woman who had accused her husband of rape, inspector Alok Parihar of Ambah police station advised PTI.

The sufferer was, nonetheless, allegedly raped by three males who had been current in the woman’s home. Later, the trio and the accused woman poured gasoline on her and set her ablaze, the official stated.

A video has been shared with the police in which the sufferer, being rushed to a hospital in a car, is heard saying that she was first gang raped, after which the accused woman and the boys had set her ablaze, he stated.

The sufferer’s husband, who’s out on bail in the rape case, has handed the video to the police, Parihar stated.

While the sufferer has recorded her assertion with the Justice of the Peace, the police had been but to document her assertion, he stated, including that the investigations are underway.
