NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries has tied up with Oberoi Hotels to collectively handle three properties throughout India and the UK. These embrace the upcoming Anant Vilas Hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (the first Oberoi ‘Vilas’ in a metro), the iconic Stoke Park in the UK, and one other deliberate challenge in Gujarat. Nita Ambani is on the board of administrators of Oberoi Hotels father or mother firm EIH and Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Ltd has 18.8% stake in EIH.
Reliance curiosity in hospitality has been rising. Last January it had introduced buying 73.4% stake in the landmark Mandarin Oriental New York for $98.1 million. Apart from EIH, Reliance at the moment already had investments in Stoke Park Limited in the UK and was growing a conference centre, resort and managed residences in BKC Mumbai — each of which is able to now be co-managed with Oberoi.
Anant Vilas has been conceived as the first metro-centric property as a part of the Oberoi’s luxurious ‘Vilas’ portfolio. It will come up in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. UK’s Stoke Park Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, owns sports activities and leisure services in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire. The services embrace a resort, sports activities services and a golf course. Oberoi will help with RIL to improve the services and make it a world-class vacation spot, Reliance mentioned in a press release.
The new challenge contains an “iconic hotel” in Gujarat. “Oberoi has an unparalleled track record of providing outstanding customer service in the hospitality industry globally. Oberoi has in their portfolio several palaces and other historic properties that have been enhanced while preserving the character and vision of the historic properties,” Reliance assertion added.
