Remembering Devin Harjes: Celebrated ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘Daredevil’ Actor Passes Away at 41

Devin Harjes, a talented actor known for roles in “Boardwalk Empire,” “Daredevil,” and “Gotham,” has sadly passed away at the age of 41. He died on May 27 at Mount Sinai West hospital in New York City after battling cancer, which he was diagnosed with in February, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Devin leaves behind his parents, Randy and Rosanne, his sister Trish, and two nieces, along with many other family members, as noted in his obituary.

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Devin grew up riding horses and later pursued acting. He started on stage and in indie films, making his TV debut in 2011 on “Boardwalk Empire” as Jack Dempsey. Over the years, he took on several diverse roles, including Clyde, a bank guard in “Gotham,” and Oscar, a nurse in “Daredevil.”

His versatility earned him praise. He received an Honorable Mention for Best Supporting Actor for “Boyz of Summer” at the Long Island International Film Expo and won Best Actor at the Tolentino International Film Festival for “The Forest Is Red.” Most recently, Devin played Pete Baylor in the series “Manifest.”

In a heartfelt tribute, “Boyz of Summer” director Antonio DiFonzo remembered Devin as a dedicated actor and friend. He wrote, “He was constantly striving to be better and put his heart and soul into everything he did!”

Outside of acting, Devin was passionate about martial arts and fitness. His obituary humorously noted his commitment to the gym, saying it was “safer than getting kicked in the face by a horse.”

Devin’s family has requested donations to TKC Blessings in lieu of flowers. This organization supports scholarships for children pursuing the arts, a tribute to Devin’s legacy in the creative community.

As we reflect on Devin’s contributions, it’s essential to recognize the impact of artists like him. They inspire future generations and remind us of the beauty of storytelling through performance.
