Revolutionizing Food Processing: Kronen and Urschel Join Forces for Innovative Technology Solutions

Kronen, a German company known for its food processing technology, has teamed up with Urschel Laboratories, based in the U.S. This partnership aims to strengthen both companies’ positions in the food industry, especially in the U.S., Mexico, and Asia.

Starting in July 2025, Urschel will sell Kronen’s machines in the U.S. and Mexico. In 2026, sales operations in Asia will move to Urschel, except for Vietnam, where Kronen will still handle sales. Both companies will keep their own operations and facilities: Kronen in Germany and Urschel in the U.S.

This collaboration will expand Urschel’s product lineup to include Kronen’s processing solutions, such as washing, peeling, and packaging. With this, Urschel can provide a full range of processing options for their customers.

As part of the partnership, Urschel will invest in Kronen, acquiring a minority stake. This investment will help Kronen enhance production at its German sites and innovate new food processing technologies.

Kronen will maintain its representatives in about 80 countries while gaining access to Urschel’s established sales network in North America and Asia. The goal is to use their combined strengths to better serve customers.

Alan Major from Urschel highlighted that this partnership aligns well with their aim to diversify product offerings. Kronen’s leadership will continue as usual, ensuring that both companies maintain their independent identities.

Such collaborations are becoming more common in the food processing sector. According to a recent report, the global food processing market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years, driven by increasing demand for processed foods and modern safety standards. Partnerships like this one help companies stay competitive and meet evolving customer needs.
