The Enforcement Directorate has registered a cash laundering case in opposition to former Mumbai NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede taking cognisance of a CBI FIR in an alleged Rs 25-crore bribe demand from famous person Shah Rukh Khan’s household to spare his son in a medicine case, official sources stated Saturday.
The central company has booked the case below the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they stated.
Some former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officers have additionally been summoned.
Mr Wankhede, a 2008-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the Customs and Indirect Taxes cadre, has moved the Bombay High Court looking for safety from any coercive motion by the anti-money laundering company.
He was booked by the CBI in May final yr on costs of looking for Rs 25-crore bribe for not framing Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan within the drugs-on-cruise case, officers had stated.
