Serbian scientists have named a brand new species of beetle after tennis nice Novak Djokovic as a consequence of its pace, energy, flexibility, sturdiness and talent to outlive in a tough atmosphere, Serbian media reported on Friday. The insect, which belongs to the Duvalius genus of floor beetles which can be current in Europe, was found a number of years in the past in an underground pit in western Serbia. It is called Duvalius Dokovici, the Tanjug information company quoted researcher Nikola Vesovic as saying.
Vesovic mentioned {that a} new species was a specialised underground Coleoptera beetle, a predator which had misplaced its eyes dwelling deep underground.
“I proposed to name the new species after Djokovic,” Vesovic was quoted as saying. “He is the man who did much for this country. We feel urged to pay him back in the way we can.”
Last weekend, the 35-year-old Djokovic, who has received 21 Grand Slam trophies, received the Tel Aviv Open to clinch his third title this season, after profitable a seventh Wimbledon crown in July.
