Conservationist and TV presenter Simon Cowell, who hosted the present Wildlife SOS, has died on the age of 72.
Cowell “passed away peacefully” on Sunday surrounded by his daughters, his companions and his canines after a “brave battle with cancer”, stated the Wildlife Aid Foundation, which he based.
Paying tribute, the charity referred to as him “one of the UK’s respected conservationists” who was a “passionate advocate for wildlife protection and environmental causes”.
It stated he “dedicated his life to British wildlife” and “worked tirelessly” to ensure injured and orphaned animals got a second probability within the wild by rescue, medical therapy, and rehabilitation.
“He campaigned relentlessly to raise awareness of the plight of wildlife and the importance of all species,” stated the charity.
In its assertion, the Wildlife Aid Foundation additionally stated Cowell began rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife in his house and backyard within the early Eighties as a “distraction” from his job as a dealer in London.
His interest later turned a full-time job and he arrange Wildlife Aid charity, now the Wildlife Aid Foundation, in 1987.
Cowell was identified for creating and presenting the tv collection Wildlife SOS for Channel 5 and showing on Animal Planet on Discovery within the Nineteen Nineties.

In July 2022, Cowell shared his terminal lung most cancers prognosis by his charity.
And the inspiration started an enchantment in support of a brand new wildlife centre for the organisation.
The enchantment, referred to as Simon’s Last Wish, has raised greater than £650,000.
The centre will function habitats together with wetland and woodland for wildlife to make their houses in, viewing platforms, a customer’s centre and a brand new wildlife hospital.
Cowell was made an MBE for providers to wildlife in 2005.
He leaves two daughters, Louisa and Gemma, his accomplice Stana, and his two beloved canines, Toby and Bobby.
