Ruled out of the T20I sequence towards India after being contaminated with COVID-19, Sri Lanka’s star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga’s isolation in Melbourne has been prolonged as he returned one other optimistic end result for the virus. Sri Lanka and India will play in a three-match T20 sequence starting with the opener right here on Thursday. “Wanindu Hasaranga, who was in isolation after contracting COVID-19, has once again returned a positive result when a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) was conducted on the player yesterday (22nd February),” a launch from Sri Lanka Cricket stated. An RTPCR check too confirmed the end result.
Hasaranga was first discovered to be optimistic throughout a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) carried out on February 15 when the Sri Lankan group was enjoying in a five-match T20 sequence in Australia.
The participant was transferred to Melbourne from Canberra and can stay in isolation till he returns a unfavourable PCR check report.
The leg-spinner was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 10.75 crore on the IPL 2022 mega public sale in Bengaluru final week.

The 24-year-old made an impression, particularly with the ball, when India went to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs sequence final July, with a three-for within the second ODI and 7 wickets — together with a four for 9 — to high the bowling charts within the three T20Is.
