TERI Marks 50 years of Pioneering Environmental Excellence and Innovation


(*50*)The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) celebrated the momentous event of its fiftieth anniversary on 18 June with a grand celebration. The day-long occasion highlighted TERI’s 5 a long time of pioneering work in sustainable improvement, environmental analysis, and useful resource administration, marking a big milestone and setting the stage for development for the subsequent 50 years.

The day started with the inauguration of the exhibition by Mr R Mukundan, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Chemicals and Governing Council Member of TERI. Congratulating TERI, (*50*)Mr Mukundan stated, “TERI provides an important platform for the Indian companies as the Indian economy is moving towards being the third largest economy in the world. TERI’s role—in building the sustainable development discourse for the entire globe by enabling India to move in that direction—is going to be immensely important not just for India but for the entire world. TERI will play a pivotal role in this journey and we should work to enable TERI to gain more power and momentum in this direction.


 


Mr Nitin Desai, Chairman, TERI set the tone for the day along with his welcome handle with the stroll down the reminiscence lane, speaking on how TERI was conceptualized. (*50*)Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI, delivered the opening handle, which was adopted by an inspiring keynote speech from Mr Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO of ReNew. Speaking on TERI’s outstanding contribution in direction of placing India on the world map, (*50*)Mr Sinha stated, “It is a special occasion for an institute or individual as it shows longevity, sustainability, state power, and an inherent strength and vitality that one needs to have to have sustained for so many years. TERI’s role in the context of the current world, as an organization of this stature, should focus on climate change, energy transition, carbon markets, artificial intelligence with respect to energy transition and energy mapping of what is happening on ground,” he additional added.


 


The relaxation of the day featured a sequence of programme shows masking a variety of subjects essential to sustainable improvement. These shows underscored TERI’s multidisciplinary strategy and its dedication to addressing varied aspects of sustainability.


 


Welcoming attendees for the night session, themed ‘TERI’s 50 Years: Gratitude & Growth’ Mr Nitin Desai, Chairman, TERI, emphasised the significance of collaborative efforts in reaching sustainable improvement and urged the kids to be extra forthcoming in direction of addressing the difficulty of local weather change.


 


Dr Vibha Dhawan expressed her views that TERI as a company has been forward of the curve. She shared the suggestions on the varied subjects which have been made to the newly shaped authorities. Speaking concerning the commendable work being completed within the space of carbon credit she stated, “We will be distributing around Rs. 44 crore to the farmers towards carbon credit.”


 


(*50*)Ms Leena Nandan, Secretary, Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), delivered a particular handle, recognizing TERI’s contributions to environmental conservation. “TERI had began when nobody was eager about atmosphere and sustainability. TERI is the flag bearer of India and does us proud,” he added on the commendable work completed by TERI prior to now 50 years.


 


The occasion additionally featured the launch of the e book ‘Creating Impacts, Transforming Lives: Success Stories from TERI’ commemorating TERI’s milestones and contributions. Reflecting on TERI’s journey and future aspirations, Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), emphasised that TERI as a company has at all times been acutely aware to undertake work that can have an effect. “TERI can provide a climate ready solution, which is the need of the hour,” he added. He was joined just about by Dr Saroj Pachauri, and Dr Shailesh Nayak in commemorating TERI’s contributions and milestones.
