A notable achievement is BFG’s role in the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, which marks a new chapter for Indian Railways. They were responsible for the design and manufacturing of the train’s interiors, including modular toilet cabins and aerodynamically designed front ends. This train boasts 823 berths and 51 toilets, with features catering to accessibility. Using advanced materials like Kevlar and phenolic resin, BFG ensures high safety standards for fire resistance and structural integrity.

Premamoorthy K, BFG India’s vice president, emphasizes their commitment to innovation: “Our focus on quality and advanced technology is evident in every component we produce.” The company previously delivered interiors for the inaugural Vande Bharat Express in just 10 months, showcasing its efficiency and design flexibility.

BFG India’s impact goes beyond railways; they play a crucial part in India’s metro projects too. They have provided essential FRP components for metro systems in cities such as Delhi, Chennai, and Mumbai. Collaborating with global brands like Alstom and Bombardier, BFG’s products meet stringent international safety standards.

In a groundbreaking move, BFG also contributed to India’s first water metro system in Kochi. They manufactured catamaran ferries that are not only custom-designed but also efficient for urban transport. Each ferry, crafted with advanced technology, can carry 100 passengers, promoting safe travel over water.

Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, founder of Sri City, points out the significance of having local manufacturing: “Seeing BFG’s products used across different sectors demonstrates our goal of fostering advanced manufacturing in India.”

With a sprawling facility of over 23,600 square meters in Sri City, BFG India is equipped with the latest technology to support the production of composites. Their focus on innovation helps build a more resilient transport ecosystem in the country.

According to a recent report by the International Transport Forum, public transport investments, like those in rail and urban transport, contribute greatly to sustainable economic growth. As India continues to develop its transport infrastructure, companies like BFG India play a vital role in pushing these advancements forward.
