The closing draft of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) was authorized by the Uttarakhand Cabinet right here, paving the way in which for its tabling within the State Assembly whose special four-day session begins right here on February 5.
The Cabinet handed the UCC draft at a gathering chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence on February 4.
The closing draft of the UCC operating into 740 pages in 4 volumes was submitted to Mr. Dhami right here on February 2 by a five-member panel headed by retired choose of the Supreme Court Ranjana Prakash Desai.
The special session of the Assembly has been convened particularly to go the laws on the UCC. The approval by the State Cabinet was obligatory for its introduction within the House.
