Britain’s embassy in Tunisia stated it can examine after Ons Jabeur informed the BBC web site that fami1y members didn’t have visas to look at her play within the Wimbledon remaining on Saturday. Jabeur, the primary African or Arab girl to succeed in a Grand Slam remaining within the trendy period, was quoted by the BBC as saying her brother Hatem would “hopefully be there” Saturday to look at her. “But unfortunately the other members of my family don’t have visas,” the report, dated Friday, quoted her as saying.
“It will be tough for them but they will be cheering for me back home.”
Whether the household had utilized for visas was not instantly clear.
On its official Twitter feed, the British embassy in Tunis stated it was cheering Jabeur on.
“We’re sorry to hear that your parents and sister aren’t able to be there to support you, and we will look into what happened,” it stated.

Jabeur misplaced the match to Russian-born Elena Rybakina, representing Kazakhstan. She stated her mother and father weren’t within the stadium both. It was not clear why.
Players representing Russia and Belarus have been banned from Wimbledon within the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
