DALLAS, PA – In February, Misericordia University held a Sport Management Symposium. The theme was “Emerging Trends in Professional Sports and Collegiate Athletics.”

This event gathered experts from the sports world to talk about how technology, legal changes, and social media are changing sports management. It highlighted the many new challenges and opportunities in the industry.

During the symposium, there were two main panel discussions. The first panel focused on collegiate athletics. It included:

  • Jeff Levine, Associate Athletic Director at the University of Pennsylvania
  • Christopher Brolley, Associate at Troutman Pepper
  • Mike Trudnak, Associate Athletic Director at Temple University
  • Joseph Frio, Director of Compliance at Villanova University

The second panel featured professionals from professional sports, including:

  • Mario Oliveri, Director of Season Ticket Sales and Service for the New York Yankees
  • Chris Sipsky, Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Philadelphia 76ers
  • Alyssa Levandoski, Manager of Partnership Activation for the Philadelphia Eagles

One highlight was the Distinguished Speaker Series, where Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders, spoke about her experiences and insights from the sports industry.

Attendees took advantage of the chance to interact with these leaders, learning about the current trends and future directions in sports management.
