Wayne Shorter, a Grammy-winning saxophonist and composer who helped formed the sound of latest jazz, has died, based on his publicist.
He was 89.
Shorter died Thursday in Los Angeles, his publicist Cem Kurosman with Blue Note Records informed CNN in an e mail. No explanation for dying was shared.
