According to a review in Wired, this phone is perfect for anyone using an old iPhone 8 Plus or X. Many are ready to upgrade simply because their phones aren’t performing well anymore. They want something new but still want an iPhone.

A review from CNET highlighted that Apple included some of its best features in this simpler model. It praised the battery life, the camera, and fast upload speeds. It even supports emergency satellite calls when you have no cell service. However, TechCrunch says the 16e is reliable but not particularly exciting, which helps keep costs down.
