Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj & Rural Development) Sasi Bhushan Kumar, in a press launch on April 28 (Sunday), mentioned that the Andhra Pradesh authorities would pay pensions at the doorsteps of the differently-abled, these struggling critical illnesses and the infirm, the bedridden and people confined to wheelchairs, the aged widows of battle veterans and pensioners, whose financial institution accounts aren’t mapped to their Aadhaar numbers, from May 1 to May 5.Â
These beneficiaries account for 25.30% of the full pensioners (16,57,361 of whole 65,49,864). Necessary directions have been issued to the district Collectors and banks.     Â
For 74.70% of the pensioners (48,92,503 of 65,49,864), whose Aadhaar numbers have been mapped to the respective financial institution accounts confirmed by the National Payments Corporation of India, the funds can be made by means of Direct Benefit Transfer by utilizing the Aadhaar-enabled Payment System (AePS) on May 1.
The pensioners whose cellular numbers have been talked about in their financial institution accounts would duly obtain the intimation (of credit score of pensions) by means of SMSes.Â
Mr. Kumar mentioned that the Election Commission of India (ECI) had directed the Andhra Pradesh authorities to make different preparations for the distribution of the advantages of ongoing schemes to the already chosen beneficiaries utilizing DBT ideally or by means of different common workers.Â
Further, the ECI needed its instructions to be adopted in letter and spirit in order that the beneficiaries might avail of the advantages with out hardship and in time, through the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the elections. Accordingly, the above preparations have been made, he added.
