MUMBAI: Diwali introduced bumper cargo volumes to the Mumbai-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) which dealt with 5600 metric tons of cargo. It was a rise of 2500 metric tons of products when in comparison with final Diwali.

Another apparent class, given the festive season, was ‘presents & samples’ which recorded a 36% yr-on-yr improve. “It was accompanied by a significant rise in the demand for perishable items such as flowers and sweets. This trend emphasizes on the growing significance of the gifting culture during the Diwali season across the nation,” stated MIAL.
In phrases of worldwide and home cargo volumes, the general surge distribution leaned barely in direction of home shipments, accounting for 56% progress, whereas worldwide cargo accounted for the remaining 44% progress. This involved optimizing existing infrastructure, strategically utilizing non-peak hours, with additional resources as needed,” stated MIAL.
