Five ladies and three kids have been killed and 23 individuals injured when a goods vehicle they have been travelling in collided with a truck in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district, police mentioned on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The accident happened late Sunday night time close to Kathia village when the victims have been returning after attending a household operate, a senior police official mentioned.

The victims, natives of Patharra village, have been returning after attending a household operate in Tiraiyya village, the official mentioned.

The goods vehicle collided with the mini truck that was parked by the roadside, the official mentioned.

Those killed have been recognized as Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6) and Twinkle Nishad (6), he mentioned.

The injured individuals have been admitted to 2 hospitals. Later, 4 critically injured individuals have been shifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur, he mentioned.
