D. Gukesh will play for the World chess championship because the youngest challenger in history. The 17-year-old from Chennai gained the qualifying occasion, the Candidates match, in Toronto after drawing his remaining spherical encounter with second seed Hikaru Nakamura of the United States.
He, nevertheless, needed to look ahead to the outcome of the sport between top-seeded American Fabiano Caruana and Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi, the winner of the final two editions of the match. Gukesh could be the outright champion if that too ended in a draw.
