The scenario escalated after a video exhibiting passengers of this flight consuming refreshments on the tarmac at Mumbai Airport went viral on social. This prompted Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to convene a midnight assembly with ministry officers on January 15-16. Subsequently, within the early hours of January 16, 2024, BCAS issued present-trigger notices to each IndiGo and Mumbai Airport.
The notices criticized IndiGo and MIAL for his or her lack of proactive measures in dealing with the scenario and facilitating passenger consolation on the airport.
