IndiGo on Thursday stated it has stopped gathering fuel charge on tickets, almost three months after introducing the levy within the wake of a surge in jet fuel costs.

The fuel charge, which was launched by the airline in early October 2023, has been eliminated with impact from Thursday.

The airline stated the fuel charge has been withdrawn as a result of current discount in ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) costs.

“As ATF prices are dynamic, we will continue to adjust our fares and components thereof, to respond to any change in prices or market conditions,” IndiGo stated in a press release.

Fuel price accounts for a big chunk of a provider’s operational prices.

The fuel charge was relevant on the airline’s home and worldwide routes.

IndiGo stated the fuel charge had been launched in October 2023, following a surge in ATF costs.
