Summer of major events lined up for Oxfordshire town

For years volunteer teams in the south Oxfordshire market town have run a sequence of showcase events all through the summer season months, and this 12 months is about to be one of the most effective.

Town mayor Daniel Beauchamp stated he was “delighted” that Wallingford was capable of supply such a diversified programme of events all through the summer season months.

He added: “The curfew bell celebrations started last year and we are pleased to continue that tradition.”

While some events are led by the town council, the mayor praised volunteers for working different events.

He stated: “We are so fortunate in Wallingford to have people and teams who need to achieve this a lot for the town and that’s borne out by the wonderful events we’re staging all through the summer season.

“They care about the town, and they want it to be the best it can be.”

The first major occasion is Wallingford Vehicle Rally, which takes place on Sunday, May 12.

The rally’s web site says: “This common occasion for the town’s calendar is open to all basic, customized and attention-grabbing automobiles from bicycles to tanks.

Wallingford Carnival is predicted to happen on Saturday, June 15.
