12 LA Sports Teams Join Forces with Anaheim Ducks to Support Fire Victims: A Community-Driven Initiative

Los Angeles is working hard to recover from the recent fires that impacted many lives. In a show of solidarity, twelve professional sports teams from the area, including Angel City FC, the Angels, Chargers, Clippers, Dodgers, Ducks, Galaxy, Kings, LAFC, Lakers, Rams, and Sparks, have committed over $8 million to help those affected. Their support will also benefit the brave firefighters battling the flames.

The donations will go to various organizations, including the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Other recipients like the California Fire Foundation and local animal rescue groups will also receive assistance to help in recovery efforts.

In addition to their financial aid, the teams have teamed up with Fanatics to give away $3 million worth of merchandise to those who’ve been displaced. This includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, and more. The teams are also contributing additional items like personal hygiene kits, school supplies, and sneakers. There will be distribution events on January 17 at Dodger Stadium, SoFi Stadium, and BMO Stadium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents who can show proof of being from evacuated areas can attend this event. To help those staying in shelters, bus transportation will be available to bring them to the stadiums. Lunch will also be provided for families at these events.

On January 10, Fanatics and the sports leagues launched the “LA Strong” merchandise collection. All proceeds from this collection will go to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross. Fans can purchase these limited items at fanatics.com/lastrong to show their support for the community.
